Greeting from International Center/国際交流センター長挨拶

Welcome to the International Center at Nara Medical University.

It is my great honor to serve as Director of International Center and to promote our university’s mission of advancing education, research, and clinical practice through meaningful global engagement. Since its founding, Nara Medical University has been committed to cultivating medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, who contribute not only to regional healthcare but also to the international community. In an increasingly interconnected world, international collaboration is essential for addressing complex health challenges and for fostering innovation in medicine and life sciences.

Established in 2009, the International Center has played a pivotal role in advancing the university’s global initiatives. Over the years, we have built a strong network of international partnerships, and we currently maintain Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with eight universities and hospitals, including institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, China, Thailand, and Cambodia. Through these agreements, we actively promote academic exchange among students, researchers, doctors, and nurses, as well as joint research and collaborative educational programs that create opportunities for mutual growth and innovation.

We are particularly committed to providing our students and young researchers with opportunities to gain international experience. By participating in exchange programs, overseas training, and international conferences, they are encouraged to develop a global perspective, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to communicate effectively across borders. We believe these experiences are indispensable for the next generation of healthcare professionals who will lead in a diverse and rapidly changing world.

At the same time, we warmly welcome international students and scholars to Nara. As a city rich in history and culture, Nara offers a unique environment in which tradition and innovation coexist. We hope that our international guests will find not only academic fulfillment but also personal enrichment through their experiences here.

Looking ahead, the International Center will continue to expand its global network and promote sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships. We are dedicated to creating new opportunities for collaboration that will contribute to the advancement of medical science and the improvement of human health worldwide.

奈良県立医科大学 国際交流センターへようこそ

奈良県立医科大学国際交流センター長として、本学の教育・研究・診療を国際的な連携を通じてさらに発展させるという使命を担えることを、大変光栄に思っております。本学は創立以来、地域医療への貢献はもとより、国際社会にも貢献できる医師・看護師をはじめとする医療人の育成に努めてまいりました。世界とのつながりがますます深まる今日、複雑化・多様化する健康課題に対応し、医学・生命科学分野における新たなイノベーションを創出するためには、国際連携がこれまで以上に重要となっています。

2009 年に設立された国際交流センターは、本学の国際化を推進する中核組織として、その役割を果たしてまいりました。これまで着実に国際的な協力関係を築き、現在では、アメリカ、イギリス、ドイツ、オーストラリア、中国、タイ、カンボジアの8つの大学・医療機関と学術交流協定（MOU）を締結しています。これらの協定を基盤として、学生、研究者、医師、看護師の交流を積極的に推進するとともに、共同研究や教育プログラムを通じて、学術・教育・医療のさらなる発展と新たな価値の創出に取り組んでいます。 また、本学では、学生や若手研究者が国際的な経験を積む機会の充実にも力を注いでいます。交換留学、海外研修、国際学会への参加などを通じて、広い視野と異文化 への深い理解を育むとともに、多様な背景を持つ人々と協働し、円滑にコミュニケーションを図る能力を養うことを目指しています。こうした経験は、変化の激しい国際社会で活躍する次世代の医療人にとって、かけがえのない財産になるものと確信しています。

一方、本学は海外からお越しになる留学生や研究者の皆様を心より歓迎いたします。歴史と文化に彩られた奈良は、伝統と革新が調和する魅力あふれる地です。本学での滞在を通じて、医療技術習得や学術的成果のみならず、日本文化や地域社 会との交流など、多彩な経験を積んでいただけることを願っております。

今後も国際交流センターは、世界各国とのネットワークをさらに拡充し、持続可能で実りあるパートナーシップの構築に努めてまいります。そして、教育・研究・診療を通じ た国際協力を一層推進し、医学の発展と世界の人々の健康増進に貢献する新たな機会を創出してまいります。 世界中のパートナー、そして友人の皆様とともに歩み、互いに学び合い、未来に向けて協力できることを心より楽しみにしております。
