Overview

Bone and soft tissue tumors, especially sarcomas are rare but very difficult to cure, such that the multidisciplinary intensive treatments of definitive surgery in combination with chemo- and radiotherapy are essential. Functional reconstruction for the large tissue defect is also an important issue for the high QoL of the patients, generally achieved with megaprosthesis or composite tissue auto-grafts. Our researches focus on the development of novel treatment strategy targeting the fundamental characteristics of sarcoma cells as well as reconstruction methods applying the stem cell biology, and aim to extend the new knowledges of rare diseases into the universal medical research field.
