Specialized Subjects

The Department of Health Management helps students understand and master the management concepts required to become an ideal medical professional in the future. It also promotes a systematic understanding of not only health management, but also of various other areas, including health policy, health economics, and evidence-based public health (EBPH).

In particular, knowledge of hospital management and the medical system is the knowledge needed by medical professionals to practice medicine.

This department, previously a part of public health studies, has been newly established as an independent department. The Department of Public Health, Health Management and Policy aims to develop human resources, who can apply the latest findings of life science and information science to scientifically understand the interrelationships among various factors related to health and diseases resulting from lifestyles or environmental changes, and who can make use of research outcomes in these areas for the formulation of national and municipal health policies. For this purpose, it also promotes a systematic understanding of various areas, including health management, health policy, and health economics, some of which overlap with the Department of Health Management.
