Overview

Our research mainly focuses on establishing efficient production methods and in vivo evaluation of artificial red cells (hemoglobin vesicles) aiming for versatile clinical applications, not only a transfusion alternative for tissue oxygenation, but also carbon monoxide carriers and antidotes. Other research topics include liposome technologies, structure & function of lactamase and new supramolecular hemoglobin gel, drug delivery systems, biomaterials, and biomacromolecules. Using chemical technologies, we aim to contribute to biomedical sciences and clinical practices.
