Our research activities mainly aim to clarify pathological mechanisms by immunological analysis using model mice of various refractory diseases, in order to provide important target molecules that will contribute to the prevention and treatment of such diseases. For example, we are developing models of bronchial asthma, interstitial pneumonia, ulcerative colitis, respiratory infections (such as those due to the influenza virus, pneumococcus, and atypical anti-acid bacteria), sepsis, and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as various types of cancer. The clinical utilization of research outcomes is key to our activities.
