Overview

As a specialized center for hematology in Nara, the Department of Hematology is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Blood diseases including hematopoietic malignancies, bone marrow failure, and thrombotic and hemostatic disease. Working in close collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, we actively engage in both fundamental and clinical research focusing on rare thrombotic disorder, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura .

"From bench to bed, from bed to bench ", recent result from the research have been applied into clinical practice in the field of Hematology. On the other hand, Recognizing the extended duration of treatment in hematologic disorders, our hematologists approach patient care from a holistic perspective. Furthermore, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of medical professionals so that they are sure to learn both clinical practice and research under ample support.
