Nursing Practice for Chronic Disease Management in Adults

Members

Mie Torii (Professor)
Chinatsu Ishibashi (Lecturer)

Overview

The Department of Adult Chronic Care Nursing focuses on individuals living with chronic illnesses during adolescence, early adulthood, and middle age. Chronic conditions, such as respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and cancer often follow long-term courses. With advances in treatment and the aging population, more people are living with chronic illnesses while managing daily life. This field examines how chronic illness affects an individual’s lifestyle based on developmental challenges, levels of health, and health impairments. Students learn nursing strategies that support individuals in leading meaningful, self-directed lives.
