Overview

The main research focus of our laboratory is to elucidate unknown mechanisms of various types of diseases by basic research approach based on “thrombosis and hemostasis”, and to develop novel therapeutics toward them. To be specific, we will investigate a novel molecular mechanism of diseases utilizing various kinds of mice deficient of coagulation / fibrinolytic factors and cultured cells derived from the deficient mice. Stem cell biology and advanced tissue engineering such as cell sheet technology will be applied for the development of new therapy. Various fields of diseases including inflammatory disease, metabolic disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, and digestive disease will be targets of our research. To identify novel function of coagulation / fibrinolytic factors is also our research interest.
