Overview

The Department of Pediatrics was reorganized as a center in 2011, and has functioned as the only facility providing advanced pediatric services on a 24-hour basis in Nara Prefecture. In order to accommodate various needs for pediatric services, we are engaged in medical consultation, treatment, education, and research activities to improve the quality of medical and nursing care. The center consists of 31 beds, and targets a broad range of diseases, specializing in general pediatric diseases, abnormalities of coagulation, oncology, cardiology, and neurology, as well as renal/collagen, infectious, and endocrine system diseases.
For inpatients, conventional hospital school education systems, in addition to a nursery school organized by nursery teachers, are available. Giving importance to the provision of care for individual children in consideration of their growth and development, we are planning to further extend our educational systems, including family support. We also hold various recreation events in each season, with a view to creating more joyful and life-fulfilling inpatient environments for children coping with their diseases daily. Teamwork through a strong bond among doctors, young nurses, and co-medicals is the center’s strength. As a team, all staff members work together to protect the health and happiness of children who will contribute to the future, while creating a pleasant atmosphere.
