Overview

This department mainly deals with gastrointestinal cancers, such as pancreatic, liver, esophageal, gastric, and colon cancers, in addition to breast cancer and childhood solid tumors. It also comprehensively provides consultation and treatment for inflammatory, hereditary, and congenital diseases involving the digestive system. As for research activities, the department proceeds with various basic studies on cancer progression and metastasis using molecular biology techniques, while conducting clinical studies to address unsolved clinical challenges. One of its goals is the development of multidisciplinary treatment strategies to identify new molecular targets and improve the prognosis through onco-immunological approaches.
